I watch CSPAN and on the rare occasions Congress is actually in session, I often say WTF – don’t they have anything better to do? Such was the case when Clemens was standing in front of Congress back in 2008. Now with his 2nd trial with charges of lying to Congress, this question comes up again. WTF were they doing wasting our tax dollars on sports doping? Leave it to the appropriate other Federal authorities. But this article gives us a reminder of what they were really after – the use of HGH in sports. That was back in the Bush Adminsistration; but nevertheless they had more important matters to attend to. This article is far too defensive of Congress, but this sums it up nicely:
The lingering belief that the Congressional hearings and subsequent developments were all a foolish use of government time and money has not gone away.
